My New Year’s Resolution for Men

There was a time when thinking about and writing down your goals for the new year electrified you . . .
The worlds you would build . . .
The companies you would start . . .
The LIFE you would create for yourself and your family . . .
It all made you shiver with delight.
That was before.
Now, when you sit at your desk, with pen and journal in hand . . .
You feel nothing.
To dream and scheme like the old days, to recreate the fire you felt . . .
Nothing.
You feel like the star has gone dark.
Some would say you’ve just grown wiser . . .
You “put away the childish things.”
You’re just now more realistic.
Yet, you know the truth . . .
The you who yearns . . . he is still in there.
Buried beneath a decade of dead and decaying days.
The longing organs withered and atrophied not for a lack of desire. . .
For a lack of trust.
Every time you told yourself you’d do something, you didn’t
Every project you quit halfway through . . .
You make and break every promise of execution . . .
Brick by brick, month by month, year by year . . .
You slowing feel the numbness encompass your life . . .
“You have so much potential” they’ve told you your whole life . . .
You know what you are capable of . . . but have struggled to make it manifest . . .
The New Year is here.
People make vague resolutions about being better, healthier, and more respected . . .
Yet, rarely does anyone follow through, because these goals lack clarity and purpose.
If you are a man, I have a suggestion for you . . .
Something tangible, transformative and essential to your health.
Learn to Fight.
Yes, that’s what I said . . .
